Seattle neighborhoods have distinct
communities, resources, beauty, and convenience. Picking the right neighborhood
for you can be challenge when looking for somewhere to live. West Seattle is
the oldest neighborhood, the first point in which travelers landed and
established Seattle in 1851 at Alki Point. West Seattle is a peninsula located
west across Elliott Bay from Downtown Seattle.
Alki beach is one of the most
popular places in West Seattle. The draw of the water, shops, restaurants,
rentals, and parks brings a unique beach town experience within minutes of downtown. Several
view points around West Seattle display spectacular images of downtown Seattle,
the Cascades, and the Puget Sound.
Other West Seattle neighborhoods
include Admiral, Beach Drive, Delridge, Fairmount Park, Highland Park, Lincoln
Park, Puget Ridge, Sunset and Westwood.
The average household income of
West Seattle is $80,566 with about 20,000 people enjoying its charm. Home
values in West Seattle are also above national averages.

Several health spas, gyms, yoga studios, and even a dance studio are located
throughout the community. Several large parks also offer trails and scenic
views; Lincoln Park, Ercolini Park, Schmitz Park, and more. There are several
community centers that host recreational activities, with plenty of other
recreational opportunities nearby too, including the heated saltwater pool in
Lincoln Park; Schmitz Preserve Park, which features an old-growth forest and

Longfellow Creek.

several ways to travel from West Seattle without having to drive over the
infamous West Seattle Bridge. Public transportation can be found easily
throughout West Seattle and is quick and convenient into Downtown. There is a lower
bridge that can be used for alternate traffic, including a lane for
bicyclists. The water taxi is a foot service ferry transport system with a free shuttle that
takes its riders from West Seattle to Alki. The taxi runs during rush hours,
and between downtown and Alki beach.
Even with all of the breathtaking
views, beautiful homes, and exceptional restaurants, it is the people that
really make West Seattle great. It is a common sight to see our neighbors out
